В 1985 была куплена корпорацией "Кеймарт" [ Kmart Corp.], в 1994 была перепродана фирме "Трифти драг сторз ов Калифорния" [Thrifty Drug Stores of California], в 1997 продана общенациональной сети "Райт эйд" [Rite Aid], переименовавшей все магазины. Правление корпорации в г. Трой, шт. Мичиган. Входила в список "Форчун-500" [ Fortune 500]. Основана как "С.С. Кресдж компани" [S.S. Kresge Company] в 1912, первый магазин - в 1897. В январе 2002 после нескольких попыток сохранить розничный бизнес объявила о банкротстве - при стоимости активов компании 17 млрд. долларов этот случай является крупнейшим в истории розничной торговли страны банкротством.
